THE PROCESS

At our Silverwork sessions learn how to create unique silver jewellery pieces and set your stones in silver.

When you start silverwork at Waterloo Bay Lapidary Club, you will make three items:

  • Chain bracelet

  • Simple ring

  • Bezel setting for oval or round cabochon.

These items will help you to gain some important skills in silversmithing.

After making these items, you can decide what you make. Guidance and assistance will be given by members who have the skills and suitable experience.

Basic tools are available for you to use for the first few weeks of learning. It is however expected that you will start to accumulate your own set of basic tools.

There is a good range of advanced tools which are available for club members to share the use of.
